Potato Gnocchi: so easy so tasty so Italian!

This is true Italian a comfort food, a main course that you will love: easy and tasty.


Here’s what you need for the  Gnocchi :

1 kg potatoes, 150 grams of flour, 150 grams of potato starch, 1 egg, salt to taste.

First wash the potatoes and boil in salted cold water.

Now is time to mix well in a large bowl the flour and starch, and put aside a little ‘on a work surface.

As soon as the potatoes are cooked, peel them

and mash them in the bowlwhile are still hot.

Add the egg and mix well with a wooden spoon.

Then knead the dough with your hands until you obtain a homogeneous mixture. It will take a very few minutes.

Now with a little ‘of dough begin to form rolls of approx 1 cm in diameter, and then cut into pieces about 2 cm.

Continue until all of the dough: your dumplings are now ready to cook.

To cook them is enough to boil in salted water. Cook a few at a time and as soon as they come to the surface and start to float, are ready!

Now just put them directly into the sauce you choosed, stirring gently.

You may taste them with Bolognese Ragù, with Tomato Souce, with a fantastic Sicilian Pesto (and I posted all these recipes!) or simply with grated Parmesan and butter: the Gnocchi will be fantastic anyway!

At the end you have only to enjoy them!
